Things can get a little crazy down at 17 E. Johnson Street, what with everyone and his brother calling the cops for every old thing, even if he has to make it up. Neighboring businesses haven taken note and expressed concerns. We ourselves have had a hard time figuring out what it is exactly that's going on: is it some sort of syndrome?
Now we're counting days--police-free days, that is. And we post them on the community board. We recently got to five whole days without the police being called to OCP. That's like some sort of miracle considering we were used to seeing them every day, sometimes more than once.
We haven't really figured out all the angles on our little system, like how to reward days free of police (or penalize those who call them). One idea was to throw a party and invite the police to it whenever we got to 30 days. Another is to make whomever calls the cops frivolously do the dishes or clean the bathroom.
Very likely we'd never see that person for a while!
